De Andres Sisters – Bajel Pirata

D.O. Alicante

Monastrell, a grape variety native to the Mediterranean, thrives near the southeastern coast of Spain, where it benefits from the region’s long, hot, and dry summers essential for optimal ripening. The vines are rooted in poor, sandy soils, often strewn with pebbles on the surface, which enhance drainage and bring complexity to the wines. Beneath these pebbles, various layers of limestone add minerality and character.

Bajel Pirata embodies the spirit of the Mediterranean, capturing the deep winemaking heritage of the region, which dates back to the Phoenicians and has been shaped by a rich, cross-cultural history linked by the sea. This wine seeks to express the authentic essence of its origins, marrying tradition with the bold, sun-kissed flavours of Monastrell.
